Born to a Spanish mother and Italian father in Montevideo, Uruguay, Gustaü and his family moved to Toronto, Canada which has been home since the age of 2.

Captivated by the guitar at an early age and a self taught guitarist from age 18, Gustaü has dedicated his life to playing, writing and recording his original Spanish guitar compositions. He founded the group Puente del Diablo in 1995, and has never looked back. His main influences include Alex Lifeson and Rush, Paco de Lucia and Vicente Amigo.
